STEPHEN J. ROMAINE - Head of NMG Tokyo

Steve Romaine joined New Millennium Group as Tokyo Branch Manager in November 2008. Steve has worked for over 20 years in Japan and Asia in investment banking and executive search. He has executed over 100 senior searches in the financial services industry across Corporate Finance, Structured Finance and Derivatives, ECM & DCM, Research & Sales, Asset Management, and senior leadership positions such as Country Manager, COO, Head of Investment Banking and Head of Credit.

Steve was born in the U.S. and won a scholarship to study Japanese at International Christian University in Tokyo. He earned his B.A. summa cum laude from Principia College, and his M.A. from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Prior to joining NMG, Steve worked in corporate and investment banking at Merrill Lynch and Bank of Boston. Following that he served as President of Korn/Ferry Asia-Pacific Region, President of Korn/Ferry’s Global Financial Services Practice, and Country Manager of Hudson Highland Group in Japan. Most recently he ran his own search and consulting firm in Tokyo.
